Callum Wilson has been talking about the season ahead.
The Newcastle United striker has been desperate to start pre-season training and now just looking forward to getting fully fit and raring to go, with first six friendlies and then the proper matches kicking off in just over five weeks time.
Last season saw Callum Wilson directly involved in 17 Premier League goals with scoring 12 and five assists.
The striker thinks he should be doing better but impressive figures when you take into account it was on average once every 122 minutes that the NUFC forward was involved in one of those 17 goals.
In a career hit by injury, the 29 year old has only once had better season stats, back in 2018/19 with Bournemouth he was involved in 23 PL goals (scoring 14 and nine assists), those 23 coming at an average of once every 110 minutes.
His next best season after these two in the Premier League was involvement in 10 PL goals (scoring eight and two assists) at an average involvement of once every 199 minutes.
Callum Wilson has broken off temporarily from his pre-season training on Wednesday night, publishing this footage from inside Wembley on his Twitter account:
